THE CHALLENGE: After 25 years of developing Leadership capabilities for companies through a consulting model, how do you increase your reach and deliver SYP's intellectual property to, through a product offering?

After struggling for a while trying to find their way in products, SYPartners hired me as a learning and leadership development domain expert - who also had built digital learning products.

HOW I TACKLED THIS: First, we had to flip the approach to creating solutions: In consulting, you sell the idea, then staff it to make it happen. In the creation of products, you staff to build the solution and then sell it.

  1. Communicated the vision for the product and what success would look like.
  2. Taught the team to design engaging training experiences.
  3. Got them comfortable building, testing, learning, and iterating.
  4. Offered it as a consumer B2B and B2C solution to test market appetite.

THE RESULTS:  LEADFULLY:  A leadership development experience that is a master class in the methods purpose-driven leaders use to lead into the unknown.

OPTIMISM, CREATIVITY, AUTHENTICITY, HUMANITY.

A digital+ experience that blends an online curriculum with live cohort experiences and 1:1 sessions with a coach. Today, LEADFULLY is used as a service and offering that helps deepen client engagement and have leadership transformation experiences at scale.

PANDORA, MEDIA

PEOPLE + CULTURE + LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
2014 - 2017

From 2013-2014 Pandora experienced it's largest year-over-year employee growth in it's 13 year history.

Realizing it was time to stop operating as a start-up, they needed to get managers across the organization to become better people leaders.

I designed the performance management program and training for 2000+ AND the leadership development approach and training for 450+ managers from newly promoted to EVP.

APPLE RETAIL

TRAINING + COMMUNICATION + INNOVATION
2001 - 2012

In 2001, Apple Retail did not exist. Neither did the iPod, or iPhone. They had a small percentage of market share of computer sales, and knew very little about retail.

And yet, they were getting ready to reinvent the retail computer purchasing experience.

I was part of the early scrappy team that opened the first 100 stores and developed everything for store processes, to inventory management, to leadership development...all at a standard never seen before in retail.

STARBUCKS

STORE + PEOPLE + LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
1995-1999

Los Angeles, 1995. A virtually unknown coffee company had exploded on to the scene. With demand stretching the few stores it had, the need for rapid expansion was critical.

I was part of the team that scaled barista training and developed the store and multi-store management training.
